Alamo Section
Mission Statement
To encourage and provide a way to share information related to food production and utilization. To advance the profession of food science and technology. To promote interest in the field of food science and technology. To provide cooperative relations with the faculties and students of educational institutions in the section that provide food science, food technology and related courses.
Section Area
We are the largest geographical area for an IFT section. Our section covers the area from El Paso to just south of Waco and includes College Station and Houston. In 2002 the Texas Section was merged with the Alamo Section. We have retained the Alamo Section IFT name. Zip codes include :
Membership
Membership is open to anyone who works in a food production related field. Most members belong to the Institute of Food Technologists. Dues are $ 10 annually and students are free. You can enroll through IFT www.ift.org . Our section does welcome those who only want to join our section at the local level by filling out an application on this website.
